I was awarded a grant to spend on whatever I wanted. Turns out, what I wanted was to make a collection of zines (rhymes with “scenes”).

So that’s what I’ll be doing for a while: creating little booklets about things that interest me, then giving them away to anyone I bump into who wants one.

Not within bumping-into distance? No worries! I’ll also make every zine available as a FREE downloadable edition online.

Zines are a lovely way for artists to connect with people. There’s something especially appealing about their handmade nature in an increasingly AI-generated world. I write, design, print, cut, fold, and assemble each little booklet myself.

​

Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT can help with plenty of things, but they still can’t hand you a freshly folded zine.
