When I pause and think about what the news loves to shout about, things like:
- war
- neglect
- abuse
- cheating
- greed
- bullying
- discord
- etc
I generally get fairly depressed. It’s why I absolutely have to limit my ‘news’ intake.
I also try to make sense out of the existence of these horrible conditions and topics. I try to wrap my head around the ‘why’s’. But I usually can’t make a whole lot of headway with that. So the other day it occurred to me that maybe in broader sense, on a more cosmic scale, we discover that human kindness is simply simply more a more balanced way of living than its opposite. It’s an esoteric concept which is why many people miss this point. I think it also explains why the apparent ‘unkindness’ we see throughout the natural world can be thought of as a part of this greater balanced state – the checks and balances between predator and prey for example within the context of these two groups overall ecosystem.
