A Festival Dedicated to “The Crazies”!
That’s right, the folks of San Miguel know how to par-tay! Every year, from every corner, every tiny village and most major neighborhoods, people organize themselves around a theme and come together to parade through the street of SMA in a gigantic riotous binge of color , humor and music.
It started last century when people working in the orchards started celebrating the potential for amazing harvests from their fruit trees; apple, pear, peach, etc. It grew from there and is now a great, big party that runs pretty much for four days culminating in the BIG parade and dance festival on the first Sunday after June 13.
Mike and I and everyone else in town who can stand the cacophony will be there. You can too!. There’s a streaming video that’s always pointed on a section of “El Jardin” (the garden) where a lot of the activity is going to happen Sunday, June 15 starting at about 4pmCST. Here’s the link.

I’ll post my own photos from tomorrow’s parade later this week. I can’t wait to witness the mayhem first hand! The above photos were taken by hubby, Mike McGinnis last year while he was here house hunting for us.
