You wouldn’t think that in the high arid plains of Mexico’s interior that you’d be able to have much opportunity to kayak, but in San Miguel de Allende you can! Thanks to the Amigos de la Presa (Friends of the Reservoir) you can join small parties on the water in a kayak and take a look at the area from a truly unique perspective.
Periodically they schedule extra special paddles where you go out with a guide and finish up at the local garden to table restaurant known for its beautiful organic food and ice creams, De Temperada.

To find the Boat House, follow the road to Otomi (past Viejo San Miguel), past the Otomi stables to the little boat house towards the end of that road. De Temporada restaurant is located at La Trinidad on road to Otomi. Bring extra cash with you if you wish to take home some truly farm fresh all organic produce as they have a small store of such largesse right across from the rustic restaurant.
