Additionally, the return to home is equally mysterious. The moment it appeared it was time for me to leave, I already was home. As I came to understand it, these travels are often conducted within the realm of dreams and the act of dreaming. This does not imply that the travels and their subsequent destinations are not real. For example, the HapiLaners you find in this exhibit are finding our existence here as actual as I found their world. . Amazingly, I was accompanied home by some of these beings in voluntary suspended animation (so they could stay longer here than I was able to stay in their world.). It is their desire to present themselves to other places. They will return to HapiLani sometime in the future, though specifically when, I cannot say. As it was explained to me, there are avenues of travel accessed by dreamers everywhere all throughout every possible corner of the universe; and all sets of circumstances and realities. Thus, there are whole existences on every plane of what can be taken for either real or supposed. What one can dream, so it becomes, it was thus that I found HapiLani. (see below - Dreams and The Dreaming) Physical Features The topography of HapiLani is varied. There are high mountainous regions. There are large oceanic bodies of liquids. There are vast plains and rolling meadows. There are densely packed forests. However, everything on these local landscapes is not exactly affixed in place. What at first seem to be rooted or stationery can move from place to place. In HapiLani, rivers actually can wander! If a mountain enjoys your presence it can follow you. So, too, with some of the plant-like creatures. Their 'roots' are plasmatic, allowing them to filter through surfaces unencumbered. While unsettling at first, these experiences of unexpected movement become something of a comfort as you travel, in that you never have to completely take your leave form anywhere or anybody. Admittedly, it makes drawing a map something of a challenge. |
