There is a wonderful place in the heart of the bluegrass in Kentucky called
"Pleasant Hill". It is a restored Shaker
Village. They keep a wonderful collection of old timey farm animals on site,
not the least of whom are these fine
percheron horses. St Marten de Tours is the patron saint for horses. St
Marten on horseback up there was known to
do such things as rip his own wrap in half and share it with the less fortunate.
One assumes he treated his horses
equally as kindly, thus his horse-association.
