I love Shakertown, and before I moved to the country, used to stay there for the occasional weekend, just for the quiet. One of my ancestors, Roger Shackelford, was a Shaker at South Union, in western Kentucky. Luckily for me, he'd raised a family before retiring to Shaker life!

This is the best list I have read in a long time. For one thing, it hits all of the "challenges" I have accepted as excuses not to do my art and for another you are so full of enthusiasm that the energy of it leaps off the page and is sucked into my dehydrated body! Thank you, my dear, for sharing so much of yourself in so many ways. BTW, Just starting my projects inspired by "A DAILY JOURNAL 365: Make Something Every Day and Change Your Life" by Noah Scalin (see www.MakeSomething365.com), recommended to me by book participant Randel Plowman, who puts a new collage up on his site every day and sells it EVERY DAY! I am using the great suggestions in that book in a page a day altered book to use as a sample in the classes I teach. The two most distracting habits of mine are (a) a messy studio that I have to clean up to use, and (2)spending more time on my other passion-promoting artists and arts organizations.
