So Far…..But Not THAT Far!
For one thing, our internet is better than it was in Kentucky! Or Chicago for that matter. But that’s because it was installed by a man named Jesus, so we knew we were in great hands!
I’ve posted some introductory photos from our new home in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico on my Facebook wall and people are starting to wonder if we’ve actually moved to heaven.
I can’t blame them. The things that stand out for me are gorgeous. The neighbors we’re meeting are vibrant, engaging and super sweet people in many different ways. The townsfolk are very helpful, and we’re told there are some colorful characters mixed in to keep us all on our toes, lol.
Below are some visual highlights. I will confess, not everything is Unicorns and Fairy Dust – but you know what? A lot of it IS!
A neighbor foal stepped out to greet us on an evening wander through the village
Our neighbors down-the-hill invited us over for a snack and gave us a bounty from their own garden – yes those are their own olives!!
A new friend invited me to join him on a guided ride with a fellow who runs a dude ranch and gives all the proceeds to support the dogs and horses he rescues!
Bambii, the official greeting dog at the little store by the bus stop into town here in Cabras
One of the more interesting wrought iron window coverings in San Miguel proper. I’m collecting ideas and inspirations.
My mom’s wall! At least that’s how I’ll always think of it. Click for the full story.
It’s for real, the streets really are made of cobblestone and they are lovely! Wear good shoes, lol.
A drawing inspired by those cobblestone streets…..
My first purchase as a resident! It’s about 22″ x 32″ of cuteness
